Sumit is a member of AAFCPAs’ Business Process & IT Consulting practice with extensive expertise performing SOX section 404 compliance, System and Organization Control (SOC) Attestations & Assessments, Business Process Assessments, System Selections, and Data Analytics.

In SOX 404 compliance engagements, Sumit evaluates internal controls and provides management with recommendations to add efficiency, such as eliminating unnecessary manual controls in low-risk areas or adding controls for high-risk transactions. He performs SOC Attestations & Assessments and provides critical support for clients in the oversight of their outsourced services, vendor management programs, and internal corporate governance and risk management processes.

Sumit helps clients develop a comprehensive and intimate understanding of their business operations and processes and provides recommendations with a focus on efficiency, effectiveness & internal controls. He advises clients on implementing pragmatic changes that have an immediate impact. When clients determine their existing system is not capable of supporting process design changes or they need features beyond what their current system provides, Sumit interviews key user groups, and conducts current process discovery sessions in order to develop system(s) requirements specifications (SRS), which leads to a clearly defined intended functionality that will satisfy user and company needs.

Sumit has expertise utilizing statistical programming languages and years of experience in spreadsheet tools and database systems. He is a critical thinker who uncovers and synthesizes data connections and helps clients see and understand their data through easy-to-understand dashboards and data visualization models.

Sumit’s strong background in finance and accounting includes 4 years of diverse experience in the assurance practice of AAFCPAs as well as 5 years as a Senior Financial analyst for global management consulting firms offering governance and risk consulting services. He performed comprehensive audits for clients to assess and identify operational risks, process gaps, and workflow inefficiencies. He has extensive client management experience with diverse and multi-cultural teams. Sumit speaks English and Hindi.
