Stephanie Salzone has had a diverse range of work experience in the transportation industry. Stephanie has held various roles at different companies, including Alexandria Transit Company (DASH), First Transit, Hampton Roads Transit, Liberty University, and Blacksburg Transit.
At Alexandria Transit Company (DASH), Stephanie currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer, a position they have held since April 2023. Prior to that, they were the Director of Safety and Security from December 2019 to April 2023.
Stephanie also worked at First Transit as a GM II from December 2019 to February 2022.
Before joining First Transit, Stephanie was employed at Hampton Roads Transit. During their time there, they held the positions of Senior Manager of Bus Transportation and Manager of Bus Operations from October 2016 to August 2019. Stephanie Salzone holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, which they obtained from Virginia Tech from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they earned an Associate's degree in General Studies from Central Virginia Community College from 2008 to 2010. In addition to their educational background, Stephanie has obtained several certifications in areas related to transit and transportation safety and security. Stephanie completed certifications such as Transit Bus System Safety, Fundamentals of Bus Collision Investigation, Transit System Security, OSHA 30-Hour Certification, Transportation Industrial Safety Management, Certified Safety and Security Officer (CSSO), and Substance Abuse Management and Program Compliance. These certifications were obtained from institutions such as the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) between 2021 and 2022.
