Kirk Moss

Composer/arranger at Alfred Music

Kirk Moss is an experienced music educator and administrator, currently serving as the Assistant Vice Provost for Faculty & Academic Programs and Dean of the Colleges of Arts & Humanities and Behavioral & Natural Sciences at the University of Northwestern – St. Paul since July 2014. Moss has also held various academic leadership positions, including Interim Dean of the College of Behavioral & Natural Sciences and Professor and Chair of the Department of Music & Theatre. In addition to academic roles, Moss is an active composer and arranger for Alfred Music and Carl Fischer Music Publishing, contributing to string method books and orchestral catalogs. Previous positions include Associate Professor of Music at Lawrence University and Minnesota State University Moorhead, along with serving as President of the American String Teachers Association. Kirk Moss holds a PhD in Music Education from the University of Florida and additional degrees from the University of Cincinnati and the University of Michigan.
