Mahdi Soltanolkotabi

Sloan Fellow In Mathematics at Alfred P. Sloan Foundation

Mahdi Soltanolkotabi serves as the Director of the Center on AI Foundations for the Sciences (AIF4S) and an Associate Professor at the University of Southern California, specializing in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Industrial and Systems Engineering since August 2015. Previously, Mahdi held the position of Assistant Professor under the Andrew & Erna Viterbi Early Career Chair. In addition, Mahdi has been a Sloan Fellow in Mathematics with the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and a David and Lucile Packard Fellow in Science and Engineering with The David and Lucile Packard Foundation since 2018. Mahdi's academic journey includes postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley in 2015 and advanced degrees from Stanford University, including a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, as well as a Bachelor's degree from Sharif University of Technology.
