Mary Zhang

Mary Zhang is an experienced professional in regulatory affairs and clinical research, currently serving as a Professor in the Regulatory Affairs Program as well as in the Cardiovascular Technology and Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography Programs at Algonquin College since 2016. Previously, Mary held multiple positions at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute from 2017 to 2023, including Clinical Research Manager and Manager of the Cardiocore Big Data Unit. Mary's background also includes a role as a Senior Regulatory Compliance & Enforcement Officer/Biologist at Health Canada and Senior Scientific & Medical Advisor at Medfavour Canada. Further experience includes a tenure as an NSERC Visiting Scientist at Health Canada and research assistant positions at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and London Health Sciences Centre. Mary holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cellular and Molecular Medicine from the University of Ottawa.
