Kamal Showaia has a diverse range of work experience. Kamal started their career as a Public Attorney at The Office of Attorney General - Libya in 2005 and worked in that role until 2010. In 2008, they also served as an Adjunct Instructor at The Administrative Affairs School.

In 2013, Kamal became a Research & Teaching Assistant at the Center for the Advancement of Human Rights (CAHR), Florida State University, where they stayed until 2015. During this time, they also worked as a Law & Governance SME at DynCorp International, focusing on legal and governance matters.

Kamal then moved on to work as a Project Advisor at the Center for Security Governance from April to August 2014. In 2017, they worked as a Researcher & Translator at Middle East Broadcasting Networks for nine months. Kamal also worked as a Translator & Transcriber at Appen from December 2017 onwards.

Currently, Kamal is employed as a News Operation Coordinator at Middle East Broadcasting Networks since July 2019. Throughout their career, they have gained experience in areas such as research, teaching, law, governance, translation, and transcription.

Kamal Showaia has a diverse education history. From 1998 to 2002, they studied at Elmergheb University and obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree in Law. In 2010, they enrolled at the American University School of International Service for Diplomatic Training in the field of International Service, completing their studies in 2012. During the same period, they also pursued a Diploma of Education in Diplomacy at the American University School of International Service.

In 2011, they joined Florida State University, where they earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree in International Relations and Affairs in 2012. Additionally, they pursued another Master's degree in International Relations and Affairs from Florida State University. This degree does not specify a start or end year.

Outside of their formal education, in April 2023, Kamal Showaia obtained a certification in "Promoting Your Podcast" from LinkedIn.
