Bo Zheng

Bo Zheng is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in ads engineering, machine learning, and search and recommendation systems. Currently serving as the VP and Distinguished Engineer at Alibaba Group since October 2017, Bo heads the ads engineering business unit and previously led the E-commerce search and recommendation team, overseeing substantial developments in machine learning platforms and algorithms. Prior to Alibaba, Bo spent over a decade at Google, where roles included Staff Software Engineer and Tech Lead, focusing on display ads quality, infrastructure, and mobile app download ads. Earlier experience includes a research internship at Microsoft Research Asia and a solid educational foundation, holding a Ph.D. in Computer Networking and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Technology from Tsinghua University.
