Ling Liu

Ling (Bill) Liu is an accomplished Engineering Director and Senior Staff Engineer with extensive experience in leading large engineering teams in the technology sector. Currently at Alibaba Group since November 2020, Ling oversees a team of over 100 engineers focused on developing an AI-centric platform featuring a comprehensive full-stack solution for data management and model serving. Previously, Ling held similar leadership roles at Ant Financial, where responsibilities included creating a real-time data task development process for risk control solutions, and at Uber, where contributions were made to the AthenaX streaming processing platform. Additionally, experience at LinkedIn involved working with the graph database team, while earlier roles at Yahoo! encompassed contributions to the International Search Department. Education credentials include a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and another Master’s from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, complemented by a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Science and Technology of China.
