Liping Zhang

Liping Zhang is a Senior Director of Engineering specializing in Technology Risk and Efficiency at Alibaba Group since August 2017. Zhang leads the Alibaba Technology Risk and Efficiency (TRE) Business Unit, encompassing various core functional units and product initiatives, including a global operations center and cluster management systems. Prior to Alibaba, Zhang held positions at Google from May 2012 to August 2017, focusing on cluster management and resource management as a tech lead and manager. Zhang's career also includes work as an Assistant Research Engineer at UC Berkeley and an Assistant Professor at Tsinghua University, where research focused on statistical signal processing and array processing. Zhang earned a PhD in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University.
