Michael Fanton

Senior Staff Data Scientist at Alife

Michael Fanton has held various research and engineering roles since 2012. Michael began their career as a Research Assistant at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics in 2012. In 2014, they took on roles as an Undergraduate Researcher at UC San Diego's Coordinated Robotics Lab and a Robotics Research Intern and California Space Grant Scholar at NASA Ames Research Center's Dynamic Tensegrity Robotics Lab. In 2015, they began a PhD Candidate role at Stanford University and a Quality Assurance Engineer role at Promega. In 2020, they became a Postdoctoral Researcher at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, and in 2021 they took on a Senior Data Scientist role at Alife Health.

Michael Fanton attended Stanford University from 2017 to 2020, where they received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to that, they attended Stanford University from 2015 to 2017 and obtained a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Michael also attended UC San Diego from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
