Harald Overholm

CEO at Alight

Harald Overholm has an extensive work experience spanning several industries. Harald co-founded Alight in 2013 and served as the CEO, helping companies switch to solar energy. Harald also held the position of Deputy Board Member at Svensk Solenergi from 2015 to 2017. From 2013 to 2019, they worked as an External Associate at the Stockholm Environment Institute, a renowned independent research institute for environmental policy. Harald Overholm was also involved in the International Energy Agency's workgroup on PV and utilities from 2015 to 2020. Harald served as the Chairman of the Board at Vireo Energy in 2014 and as an Investment Director at the Sustainable Technologies Fund from 2009 to 2012. Additionally, they worked as a Fund Manager at Kaupthing Clean Technology Partners from 2007 to 2009. Earlier in their career, they held the role of Chief Technology Officer at Fork Unstable Media in 1999 and worked as a Web Development Project Manager at Spray/Razorfish from 1997 to 1999.

Harald Overholm holds a PhD degree from the University of Cambridge, which they obtained from 2009 to 2013. During their time at Cambridge, they focused on the market development of the US solar PPA market. Prior to this, they pursued their MSc degree in Industrial Engineering of Energy Systems from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Harald completed their MSc from 2002 to 2007. Additionally, Harald obtained a BSc degree in International Relations / Energy Security from Stockholm University between 2002 and 2006.
