Dave Smith's work experience begins in 1991 at Syntex, where they worked as a Research Scientist until 1995. Dave then joined Roche Palo Alto as a Principal Research Scientist and remained there until 2010. In 2010, Dave joined Alios BioPharma as an Associate Director and worked their way up to Senior Director Product Development before leaving in 2015. From 2015 to 2018, they worked at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies as the Vice President and Global Research and Development Leader for Hepatology. Currently, Dave is the Executive Vice President at Aligos Therapeutics, a position they have held since December 2020. Prior to this role, they served as the Vice President and Head of Chemical Operations at Aligos Therapeutics from August 2018 to December 2020. Additionally, Dave worked as a Consulting Associate Professor of Chemistry at Stanford University from 1993 to 2001.
