Jacquelyn Sousa

Senior Associate Scientist at Aligos Therapeutics

Jacquelyn Sousa has a strong background in scientific research and development. Jacquelyn started their career as an Associate Scientist at GENEWIZ, where they organized and executed DNA sequencing reactions and analyzed sequence data. Jacquelyn also operated liquid handlers and troubleshooted instrument and experimental issues. Jacquelyn then moved on to Moderna Therapeutics, where they worked as a Production Associate, carrying out the production of mRNA and purifying and filtering the final product. Jacquelyn determined mRNA purity through Fragment Analysis. Jacquelyn then joined the University of Massachusetts Medical School as a Research Associate, where they assisted the RNA Therapeutics department in manufacturing oligonucleotides for research. Jacquelyn operated multiple automated synthesizers and purified oligonucleotides by HPLC. Most recently, Jacquelyn joined Aligos Therapeutics as a Senior Associate Scientist, where they specialize in synthesizing oligonucleotides as a therapeutic for various diseases. Jacquelyn is also developing a high-throughput process for manufacturing oligos for in vitro screening.

Jacquelyn Sousa attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute from 2008 to 2013, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry.
