Robert Harter

Director of Sales & Marketing at Alila

Robert Harter is the current Director of Sales & Marketing at Alila. Robert was previously the Director of Sales & Marketing at L'Auberge Del Mar from December 2011 to February 2020. During their time at L'Auberge Del Mar, Harter successfully guided the company to eight years of brand refinement, financial performance, and employee culture.

Harter's successful recipe included authentic programming, strong cultural pillars, and highly strategic actions that led to an extremely high performance within the group, transient, and weddings sectors. As a result of Harter's efforts, L'Auberge Del Mar was named Property of the Year in 2015, Integrated Marketing Campaign of the Year (Opening Day After-Party) in 2014, and Sales & Revenue Team of the Year in 2015. In addition, Harter successfully bridged one ownership change and two management changes within a six month period in 2018-2019.

Prior to their time at L'Auberge Del Mar, Harter served as the Associate Director of Sales at La Costa Resort and Spa (KSL Resorts) from October 2003 to December 2011 and at Rancho Bernardo Inn (JC Resorts) from August 1995 to October 2003. Harter began their career in the hospitality industry as the Marketing and Event Manager at VSE Marketing from May 1991 to August 1995 before moving on to become the Food and Beverage Specialist at Rancho Bernardo Inn from May 1985 to May 1991.

Robert Harter received a BA in Business Administration with a focus in Management and Marketing from San Diego State University.
