Niels Vande Casteele

Niels Vande Casteele is a seasoned professional in clinical development and pharmacology, currently serving as Vice President of Early Clinical Development & Pharmacology at Mirador Therapeutics since August 2024. With extensive experience at UC San Diego since October 2013 as an Associate Adjunct Professor and Co-Chair of the Biologics and Biosimilars Drug Development Course, Niels has contributed significantly to academic and clinical research. Prior roles include Founder and President of AcelaBio, where strategic development of a CLIA-accredited laboratory was a key achievement, and Senior Scientific Advisor at Alimentiv, focusing on precision medicine in clinical trials. Niels holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from KU Leuven and has a strong background in drug development, having worked on global clinical trials and various research projects throughout a diverse career.
