Simon Mawer

Simon Mawer is the VP & Chief of Staff at Alio Medical. Simon has previously worked as a lecturer at Stanford University, the director of Innovence Lab and DARTS program at Stanford Health Care, and a consultant with The Risk Authority. Simon is a frequent speaker and author on the applications of Design Thinking and Decision Analysis in healthcare, and has partnered with alums of the world-leading design firm IDEO to author “Discovery Design”: the first comprehensive guidebook for healthcare professionals in how to use Design Thinking to drive effective healthcare innovation and improvement.

Simon Mawer has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Technology Sydney. Simon also has certifications from IDEO U in Human-Centered Design, IHI in IHI Basic Certificate in Safety and Quality, Harvard University in Improvement Science in Healthcare, Stanford University in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Supreme Court of New Wales in Lawyer of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, and Stanford University in Strategic Decisions and Risk Management.
