Maria Kondratyev

Scientist II at AlivaMab Discovery Services

Maria was born in Moscow and moved to Israel at age 14. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology and Master of Science in cell biology and immunology from Tel Aviv University. Maria moved to Canada in 2004 and received her Ph.D. in biochemistry from McMaster University, where she worked on breast cancer and stem cell biology, investigating the role of Notch signaling in oncogenesis. Then, she did her postdoc at University Health Network in Toronto, where she led a large program that aimed to discover new therapeutic targets in metastatic head and neck cancer. Maria also did an industrial postdoc with Northern Biologics, where she developed assays for evaluation and ranked therapeutic antibodies developed by the company.

Prior to joining AlivaMab Discovery Services, Maria worked for two years as a Senior Scientist at UHN, where she continued and expanded on her postdoctoral work. Maria is currently finishing an online MBA degree and an entrepreneurship program with Smith Business School, Kingston, Ontario.
