Bill McElroy

Bill McElroy is an experienced medicinal chemist currently serving as Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Alkermes since December 2021. Prior to this role, McElroy held positions as Principal Scientist at Constellation Pharmaceuticals and Kintai Therapeutics, where significant contributions included co-leading oncology targets and microbiome-inspired therapeutics. With a decade-long tenure at Merck, McElroy advanced various programs in chemical biology and medicinal chemistry, leading teams in the discovery of innovative inhibitors and therapeutic targets. McElroy's career began with a postdoctoral position at The University of Texas at Austin, following the attainment of a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Maryland and a BS in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics from Muhlenberg College.
