Cara Kaufhold

Cara Kaufhold has extensive experience in quality assurance within the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as the Director of Quality Assurance at Alkermes since September 2001. Kaufhold is responsible for managing Quality and Compliance functions across the External Operations plant, ensuring adherence to cGMPs for contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) and the External Operations departments. Previous roles at Alkermes included Associate Director and Quality Assurance Manager, where Kaufhold focused on contract manufacturing oversight, quality relationship management, and support of product launches. Earlier experience includes a position as a Laboratory Support Technician at Bayer, where responsibilities involved compliance and documentation for plasma sample testing. Kaufhold holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a concentration in Microbiology from The Ohio State University.
