David Benaron

David Benaron has a diverse work experience in the medical and healthcare industry. David is currently working as the Strategic Director and interim CEO at Mor Digital Pharmacy since September 2019. David is also concurrently serving as the Chief Medical Officer at all.health since March 2017.

Prior to their current roles, David worked as the Strategic Director at predictivEmotix from October 2018 to September 2019. David was also the Chief Medical Officer at Jawbone from September 2015 to March 2017.

Before joining Jawbone, David served as the CEO at Spectros Corp for more than 10 years, from June 2004 to September 2015. At Spectros Corp, they developed and marketed molecularly targeted devices for patients with serious illnesses such as ischemia and cancer.

David also worked as a Strategic Advisor at cellNumerate from April 2012 to August 2015. David was the CEO at FirstScan from January 2005 to December 2011, where they developed an early breast cancer screening tool. However, the trials showed no advantage over conventional X-Ray, and the project was halted.

In addition, David founded Xenogen Corporation in 1996, a company that became a leader in pre-clinical drug discovery optical whole-animal imaging. The company went public in 2004 and was later acquired by Perkin Elmer in 2011.

David's career began at Stanford University, where they worked as a Professor and founded the biophotonics lab. During their time at Stanford, they made significant contributions to the medical wearables industry, including the invention of the first green-light heart rate sensor and the first luciferase imaging platforms.

Before Stanford, David co-founded Sextant Medical, a surgical tools company, in 1992. The company was later acquired through M&A in 2006.

David Benaron has a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medical Devices from Harvard Medical School. David also has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry / Comparative Literature from the University of California, Davis. Additionally, they completed their Resident MD program with a focus on Intensive care and Biophysics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Furthermore, they pursued Health Sciences Technology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Neonatal Intensive Care at the Stanford University School of Medicine.
