Deborah Gare serves as the Pro-Vice Chancellor for the College of Law, Arts and Social Sciences at Murdoch University since December 2021, previously holding the role of Head of Social Sciences and Arts. In addition, Deborah is the President of the History Council of Western Australia and an Advisory Group Member at the Djoowak Beyond Boundaries Institute at All Saints' College. Prior academic positions include Professor of History and Associate Dean at The University of Notre Dame Australia, alongside research roles at the University of Manchester and the University of British Columbia. Deborah completed an Executive Leadership Program at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and earned a PhD in History from The University of Western Australia, where a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) was also obtained in History, Politics, French, and Music.
