Karen Flick

Karen Flick has extensive work experience in the legal field. Karen most recently served as Vice President, Legal at Allakos Inc, starting in April 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President Legal at PACT Pharma from January 2022 to September 2022. Before joining PACT Pharma, Karen worked at Talis Biomedical Corporation, where they held multiple roles including Chief of Staff and SVP Legal from February 2020 to December 2021, Vice President Legal from April 2019 to February 2020, and IP Counsel from January 2015 to April 2019. Karen has also worked as a patent attorney at their own law firm, the Law Offices of Karen E. Flick, from July 2007 to December 2014. Prior to that, they worked as a Patent Attorney at Foley & Lardner LLP and Fish & Richardson P.C. Karen started their career as a Patent Agent at Cooley Godward in 1998 and later became a Patent Attorney before leaving in 2004. Overall, Karen has a strong background and experience in patent law and legal leadership positions.

Karen Flick completed their education at multiple prestigious institutions. Karen first attended Harvard University from 1987 to 1991, earning an A.B. in Biochemistry. Following this, they pursued further studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where they completed a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from 1991 to 1995. Karen continued their educational journey at the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law, where they obtained a J.D. degree in Law from 1999 to 2002.
