Brett Shockley

Brett Shockley is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in corporate law and litigation management. Currently serving as Associate General Counsel at Truist since September 2025, Brett previously held the position of Director and Head of Litigation at Sunlight Financial, where responsibilities included managing diverse litigation matters and advising on public company reporting. Prior to this, Brett served as Assistant General Counsel and Senior Vice President at Bank of America, overseeing legal affairs for significant business lines and advising on consumer regulations. Brett began their legal career as an Associate at McGuireWoods LLP, managing numerous lawsuits, including high-profile cases related to residential mortgages and major fraud schemes. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee University School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland.
