John Powell

A Managing Director with Allegis Partners, John Powell has more than 25 years of experience in executive search. He was an equity partner with a "Top 4" global search firm for 15 years and then spent 10 years helping establish Talent Partners, the predecessor firm to Allegis Partners in Australia. With a wealth of knowledge, industry expertise, and strong networks, John is highly regarded and respected for his passion and exceptional ability to achieve positive outcomes for his clients and candidates. John has successfully completed more than 700 assignments across a wide range of industries and functions including C-suite, senior executive, and leadership roles for startups and large corporate organizations in both the public and private sectors.

Prior to commencing his career in executive search, John worked with Chase AMP Bank as a General Manager with responsibility for client banking operations and marketing. Before this, he spent seven years with American Express, initially as Head of HR and later as Director of Card Member Services.

Born and educated in England, John migrated to Australia in 1969 and initially worked in human resource counseling before establishing his own HR consulting business. John enjoys spending time with family and on his rural holding in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.
