Melba Hughes, is a senior member of Allegis Partners’ Practice Group and is a partner with Major, Lindsey & Africa. She is a nationally recognized executive search consultant known for her creativity, commitment, and extensive network across industries. She conducts executive searches and works with CEOs, boards, CHROs, and general counsel.

For more than two decades, Melba has mastered the art of sharing insights on common challenges and opportunities in leadership development. She has built a national reputation through her work recruiting senior executives. With unparalleled access to and knowledge of a diverse candidate pool, she is a thoughtful, trusted advisor to an exclusive group and is ever mindful of the long-term goals of her clients. Her clients include large, global public companies as well as smaller more entrepreneurial entities. She thrives in the consumer products, technology, healthcare, and manufacturing spaces.

Melba brings passion, commitment, and attention to detail to her practice. She is particularly proud of her accomplishments in the Diversity and Inclusion space. With her extensive network and her ability to build lasting relationships, she has been successful with building powerful teams.

An innovative and creative leader, Melba, in conjunction with the Emory University School of Law, launched the Diversity Speakers Series in 2014. A certified professional coach and a graduate of Leadership Atlanta, she is frequently invited to present and participate in national conferences and seminars.

Melba is an active professional and community leader, serving on the boards of several charitable and non-profit organizations. In addition, she has done extensive talent management work with social justice clients including, Southern Poverty Law Center and the Georgia Justice Project.

Melba received her Bachelor of Arts with honors from the University of Connecticut.
