Onur Gungor

Onur Gungor has a diverse and extensive work experience. Onur is currently the Founder & CEO of Allegory, a position they have held since October 2019. Prior to founding Allegory, Onur worked as a Head Consultant at OGC Management Inc. starting in June 2019. In this role, they provided management consulting services to firms such as McKinsey and Bain & Company, supporting senior executives as a strategist in market discovery, digitization, and pricing. Onur also built various frameworks including product, automation (AI, ML, RPA), and financial projection (ROI/ROE) frameworks.

Before their role at OGC Management Inc., Onur served as a Senior Product Manager at Zesty, starting in August 2022 and ending in April 2023.

Additionally, Onur has experience in the insurance industry. Onur worked at Onlia as a Product Manager (Underwriting, Pricing, Analytics) from October 2016 to June 2019, where they were part of the founding team and played a key role in building agile product development, pricing, analytics, reporting, and customer insights teams. Onur supported the executive team in launching the insurance company, raising funding, and growing the team from 6 to 40 full-time employees.

Prior to Onlia, Onur worked at Eureko Sigorta as a Product Pricing Actuary from February 2014 to October 2016. In that role, they played a crucial role in increasing revenue from $9 million to $60 million and profitability from a $6 million loss to a $12 million profit in less than two years for the third-party auto liability product. Onur implemented CLV/CEV models to increase net customer lifetime value by 15%.

Onur's earlier work experience includes roles at HDI Sigorta A.S. as an Actuarial Specialist from July 2012 to February 2014 and at HDI Asekuracja as an Actuarial Specialist for a brief period in August 2012 and September 2012.

Onur obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Anadolu University, which they attended from 2008 to 2013. Onur then pursued a Master's degree in Financial Markets and Investment Management from Marmara University, where they studied from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, Gungor attended Hacettepe University from 2008 to 2012, where they studied Actuarial Science within the Faculty of Science. Furthermore, they completed a certification program and became a Member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in 2013. In addition, there is a record of Gungor attending a short-term program in Business Administration at Wyższa Szkoła Bankowa w Gdańsku in 2011.
