Paul Albee

Paul Albee is a Principal Research Engineer at the Allen Institute for AI (AI2) since September 2021, and a core team member of the TED AI Open Source Hackathon, focusing on solving pressing global issues aligned with UN sustainability goals. Prior experience includes significant roles at Vulcan Inc., where Paul served as a Lead Research Software Engineer, and at Security Innovation as a Principal Software Engineer dedicated to building secure software. Academic contributions include a Senior Research Scientist position at the Institute for Health and Business Insight (IHBI) at Carnegie Mellon University, and a tenure as an Assistant Professor at Central Michigan University, where Paul developed and taught Computer Science courses. Paul holds a PhD in Computer Science from Michigan State University, along with a Master’s from Bowling Green State University and a Bachelor’s from Trine University.
