Matthew Allen is the Managing Partner of Allen + Clarke in New Zealand, where leadership responsibilities include management, finance, business development, and capability development, in collaboration with the Managing Partner in Australia, Paul Houliston. Alongside Houliston, Matthew Allen is a majority owner of Allen + Clarke, sharing ownership with six other employees. Previous roles include Programme Manager for the New Zealand Government’s Inquiry into Mental Health and Addiction in 2018, Principal Project Analyst for the Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Authority in 2001, and Manager of the National Drug Policy team at the Ministry of Health from 1994 to 2000. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology and Physiology, both earned at Victoria University of Wellington.
