Elaine Mehalakes

Vice President of Curatorial Affairs at Allentown Art Museum

Elaine Mehalakes serves as the Vice President of Curatorial Affairs at the Allentown Art Museum of the Lehigh Valley since January 2015, overseeing the museum’s curatorial and collections management departments. Prior to this role, Elaine worked as an independent curator and writer, advising on significant collections, including the Peter Grippe Collection. Elaine's earlier experience includes positions such as Kemper Curator of Academic Programs and Acting Curator of Contemporary Art at the Davis Museum and Cultural Center, and Senior Cataloguer at The Museum of Modern Art. Elaine's educational background includes a Master of Arts in Modern Art History from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University at Albany.
