Geoffrey Schmidt

Geoffrey Schmidt currently serves as the Principal of Louis E. Dieruff High School within the Allentown School District, a position held since January 2024. Prior to this role, Schmidt was the Principal of Holyoke High School Opportunity Academy from October 2021 to January 2024 and previously served as Engagement Director and Design Team Lead at Holyoke Public Schools from November 2018 to October 2021, focusing on innovative educational approaches. Earlier experience includes serving as Director of School Culture at Phoenix Charter Academy Network from April 2014 to November 2018, where initiatives in restorative practices and positive youth development were emphasized, as well as a role as Teacher and Department Lead with the NYC Department of Education from July 2006 to July 2013. Schmidt holds a Master of Education (M Ed L) from Lehigh University, a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing from The New School, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Language and Literature from Lehigh University.
