Ebony Brown has worked in various roles since 2014. In 2015, they began their role as Director of the Education Circle at the University of Michigan Social Venture Fund. In 2014, they also worked as a Summer Enterprise Consultant at Land O'Lakes, Inc., where they designed and implemented a business incubation curriculum for 21 agriculture technology start-ups in Tanzania.
In 2019, Ebony began working as a Board Observer at AllHere, BrightHive, and Abl, as well as a Partner and Principal at Rethink Education. In 2021, they became a Board Director at Anthill and in 2022, they joined Kauffman Fellows as Class 27.
Ebony Brown attended Howard University, where they earned a B.B.A. in Finance. Ebony then went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business, with a focus in Strategy and Entrepreneurship.
