Krystal Smith Oji

Krystal Smith Oji is an accomplished educational leader with extensive experience in academic administration and curriculum development. Currently serving as Assistant Principal at Alliance College-Ready Public Schools since July 2023, Krystal previously worked at YES Prep Public Schools where the role of Director of Academics included leading a significant increase in student achievement in STAAR Domain I. In earlier roles, including Dean of Instruction and Academic Support Specialist at YES Prep, Krystal focused on professional development, assessment coordination, and stakeholder engagement to enhance educational outcomes. Prior experience also includes positions at Houston ISD as an English Instructor and Secondary Reading Curriculum Developer, along with a role at Pearson as an Instructional Coach. Krystal's career began as a Child Safety Specialist at the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Psychology and a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Grand Canyon University, as well as a BA in Psychology from the University of Houston-Downtown.
