Phil Anson

Phil Anson—who joined the ACG team as an Operating Partner in 2018—is a culinary enthusiast and innovator who created and grew one of the most successful emerging natural food brands of the past decade, EVOL Foods. Phil founded and built Phil’s Fresh Foods, later renamed “EVOL”, where he led the EVOL brand and team, raised multiple rounds of financing, and ultimately shepherded the company’s successful sale to Boulder Brands (NASDAQ: BDBD) in 2013.

At Boulder Brands (a publicly-listed billion dollar food company, comprised of EVOL, Glutino, Udi’s and Smart Balance) Phil held leadership posts of increasing responsibility including SVP of Frozen Foods, Chief Innovation Officer, Chief Commercial Officer and ultimately Interim General Manager, overseeing Boulder Brands’ sale to Pinnacle Foods (NYSE: PF). Phil’s passion is in general management, entrepreneurship, and innovation, and he has more than 15 years of experience in food manufacturing, marketing, sales, distribution, finance and strategic planning.
