Alliance for a Better Community
Erika Cervantes holds a Master of Public Policy from UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs and a dual Bachelor's degree in Economics and Urban Studies from UC Irvine. Currently serving as a Young Professionals Network Leadership Council Member for Latinas Lead California and the Senior Policy and Advocacy Manager at Alliance for a Better Community, Erika coordinates coalition-building efforts and engages with elected officials to address key issues affecting the Los Angeles Latino/a community. Previously, in roles including Program Manager at CSH and Public Policy and Government Relations at Southern California Grantmakers, Erika advanced significant state-level policies on homelessness and public policy research, demonstrating expertise in advocacy, coalition management, and stakeholder engagement across various sectors.

Alliance for a Better Community
Alliance for a Better Community is advancing social, economic, racial equity and justice for the Latina/o community and the Los Angeles region through power building and policy advocacy. ABC was founded in 2000 to address the pressing social problems facing Los Angeles and its emerging Latina/o majority free of partisanship and political agendas. ABC’s vision is to strengthen Latina/o presence in the shaping of local policy and leading advocacy efforts. This national model will meet the needs of the growing Latino community. Its effectiveness will lie in its strengths: advocacy, policy development, leadership, and coalition-building.
