Operations Associate at Alliance for Children and Families

Ann Koerner has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Ann started their career in 1988 as the First Director of Unity House Transitional Housing Program for Homeless Women and Children, where they established a new program and managed various aspects including fundraising, rehabilitating buildings, financial management, and program development.

In 1992, Ann became the Executive Director of the Illinois Independent Living Center, overseeing a residential program for individuals with physical disabilities. Their responsibilities included property management, staff supervision, fundraising, and financial oversight.

From 1998 to 2006, they served as the Pastoral and Administrative Assistant at St. Gregory the Great Parish, providing support in various administrative and pastoral tasks.

In 2008, Ann joined the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities and held multiple positions. As an Operations Associate, they assisted in implementing a multi-million dollar grant project and played a crucial role in fostering strategy within nonprofit organizations. Additionally, as a Project Assistant for the New Age of Aging grant, Ann facilitated the distribution of funds to support older adults. Ann also worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Leadership and Consultation Service, supporting the expansion of the Executive Consultant Select Group. This involved organizing webinars and workshops for Alliance members.

Ann Koerner obtained a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BS & BSN) degree from Marian University, where they studied Education and Nursing between 1963 and 1967. Later, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Christian Spirituality at Creighton University from 1986 to 1990.
