Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay
Kate Fritz is the Chief Executive Officer at Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay since August 2017. Prior to this, Kate served as the Executive Director at South River Federation and as a Sustainability Coordinator for The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission. With a background in environmental science and management, Kate has qualifications in natural resource management, ecosystem restoration, and environmental management. Throughout their career, Kate has been involved in various research projects related to water quality monitoring, eelgrass wasting disease, and sustainability efforts.

For the last 50 years, the Alliance has worked to bring together communities, companies, and conservationists to improve the lands and waters of the Chesapeake Bay. We seek to work upstream, to prevent pollution from where it starts. We believe in collaboration, inclusivity, and action-oriented progress based on science. Our vision is for clean streams and rivers flowing through resilient landscapes, cared for by the 18+ million people who live, work, and play in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
