Robert MacArthur has extensive experience in the healthcare industry, starting with their current role as Chief Medical Officer at Alliance Health. Robert previously served as Chief Medical Officer at Commonwealth Care Alliance from 2018 to 2023. Prior to that, they held various positions at UnitedHealth Group, including National Medical Director - Complex Population Management and Regional Chief Medical Officer. Before joining UnitedHealth Group, they worked as a Geriatric Internal Medicine physician at Tannenbaum Internal Medicine and Greensboro Medical Associates.
Robert MacArthur received their Bachelor's degree in Biology and Art History from Wake Forest University between the years 1981 and 1985. Robert then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree from Wake Forest University Graduate School from 1987 to 1989. Following this, Robert attended Wake Forest Univeristy School of Medicine from 1990 to 1994, where they obtained their Medical Doctor degree. Robert then completed their Internal Medicine Residency at Atrium Health - Carolinas Medical Center from 1994 to 1997. To further enhance their expertise, Robert obtained certification in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine in August 1997.
