Barry Pouwels

Barry Pouwels has extensive experience in IT and cybersecurity management, currently serving as the Manager of the Cyber Resilience Center at Alliander since July 2008. In this role, Barry is part of the management team within the Alliander CISO Office. Previously held positions at Alliander include IT Privacy & Security Expert, focusing on IT Vulnerability and Threat Management, and IT Process Manager, where Lean methodologies were utilized to tackle IT challenges. Barry also founded Qualitysign, a company dedicated to developing web solutions and providing Information Security Management advice. Additionally, Barry served as Chairman of the Works Council for Alliander IT and Telecom, advocating for organizational interests during changes. Earlier experience includes a role as Chairman of the Participation Council at OBS De Watermolen and a position as Process Manager at Nuon ICT, where the quality management framework was developed. Barry holds an IT degree from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and is an ITILv3 Expert.
