Ruben Buijs

Ruben Buijs is currently a Demand & Portfolio Manager at Alliander, a position held since September 2022, where responsibilities include providing insights into demand and work packages for Liander at tactical and strategic levels, alongside coaching the Demand & Portfolio Managers group. Prior to this role, Ruben Buijs spent over a decade at Tata Steel in Europe, progressing through various positions including Sales Planning Manager S&OP, where Ruben supervised sales plans across multiple sectors; Project Manager, leading the design and implementation of a long-term Sales & Operational Planning tool; Planning Manager, responsible for daily planning of major mills; and Process Improvement Consultant, focusing on operational enhancements in Liquid Steelmaking. Ruben Buijs began the professional career as a Weekly S&OP Analyst intern at AVEBE, during which a decision support tool was developed as part of the graduation thesis. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management with a focus on Product and Process Design from the University of Groningen.
