Curtis Schaefer currently serves as the Director of Potato Agronomy at Grimmway Farms since March 2023. Previously, Curtis held the position of Director of Agronomy at Tasteful Selections LLC from January 2022 to May 2023, and served as Regional Agronomy Manager at Black Gold Farms from August 2017 to December 2021. Curtis began a career in agronomy at Texas Tech University, progressing from Research Associate to Graduate Research Assistant from January 2012 to July 2017, managing field trials and collaborating on irrigation research. Previous experience includes a Maize Product Development Research Intern role at Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc. and working on a family farm. Curtis holds a PhD and MS in Crop Physiology from Texas Tech University and a B.S. in Global Resource Systems from Iowa State University, complemented by a minor in Spanish Language and Literature from Universidad de Extremadura.

In 2007, Jason Davenport founded Allied Potato, establishing a successful company specializing in the export of chipping potatoes from California and Washington. In 2009, the business expanded to include Brian Kirschenmann, a grower and packer from Bakersfield, California. With a similar vision for the future and strong partnership built on respect and hard work, the business quickly expanded and is now a recognized leader in the potato industry. As operations expanded to the northwest, Derek Davenport joined the team in 2010 and is now a valued partner heading the thriving farm and packing operation in the heart of Washington’s potato growing country. Similar to the California operation, Allied Potato Northwest utilizes the latest technology and proprietary processes that ensure the quality, freshness and continuity of supply that our customers have come to expect with each shipment. 2016 brought on the integration of a seed farm in Colorado – Allied Potato Colorado, and is being developed into a leading seed farm in Colorado after partnering with Jared Myers. With expanding operations to various parts of California, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado; international operations and expansion is one of the core ambitions of the company in the coming years.
