John W. Mellors

John W. Mellors, MD, is Distinguished Professor of Medicine, Chief of Infectious Diseases and the Endowed Chair for Global Elimination of HIV and AIDS at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC Health System. His research programs investigate the mechanisms of HIV-1 drug resistance, antivirals to prevent HIV-1 and SARS-CoV-2 infection, and innovative approaches to cure SARS-CoV-2 and HIV-1 infection. Dr. Mellors received his BA from Dartmouth College, his MD from Dartmouth Medical School and completed his post-doctoral training at Yale University.
