Yvonne Dommels has a wealth of experience in the nutrition and regulatory affairs field. Yvonne began their career in 2003 as a Scientist at the RIKILT Institute of Food Safety, conducting research on folate and caloric restriction on gut health in animals and in-vitro models. In 2005, they moved to Crop & Food Research in New Zealand as a Nutrigenomics post-doc. In 2006, they joined Unilever as a Lead Regulatory Affairs Manager Benelux - Foods, Refreshments, Food Solutions, HC, BPC. During their time at Unilever, they also held roles as Lead Regulatory Affairs Manager Food & Refreshment Benelux/Nordics, Regulatory Affairs Manager Foods, Project Leader / Research Manager, and Programme Manager for the R&D Academy of Unilever. In 2022, they began their current role as Nutrition & Regulatory Affairs Director at The Protein Brewery.
Yvonne Dommels completed their PhD in Nutrition and Health at Wageningen University & Research between 1998 and 2003. Prior to that, they earned a Msc in Biological Health Sciences from Maastricht University between 1993 and 1998. Yvonne began their education in 1987 at VWO Hertog Jan College in Valkenswaard.
