Roger Casals Vilardell

Roger Casals Vilardell has been working in the field of Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence since 2018. In 2020, they began working as a Computer Vision Engineer at AllRead Machine Learning Technologies, where they use Python, OpenCV, numpy and Deep Learning frameworks like Tensorflow and Keras. Their roles include exploring, evaluating and implementing state-of-the-art deep learning models for object detection, segmentation and recognition, as well as designing systems to identify, read and track text from videos in particular scenarios such as license plates, container and wagon codes. Prior to this, they worked at Serimag as a Software Developer and Junior Computer Vision Engineer, where they developed and implemented Artificial Intelligence solutions to automate documentary processes through Machine Learning, Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing techniques, and assisted in building production environments on AWS with Docker.

Roger Casals Vilardell completed a Master's degree in Computer Vision from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2020. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Technologies and Services Engineering from UPC - ETSETB TelecomBCN in 2019. Before this, they obtained a Technician of the Professional Teachings of Music in the Specialty of Piano from the Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona in 2014.
