Joshua Flood has held several positions in the past decade. In 2009, they were a Resident Assistant at Appalachian State University, where they co-supervised a residence hall of 240 Undergraduates, guided a floor of 40 residents, and advised students. In 2012, they were a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the same university, where they were the primary instructor for introductory physics labs, responsible for lessons, lab instruction, and grading for between 40 and 100 students. That same year, they were an Intern at the Appalachian Regional Healthcare System. In 2014, they were a Co-Founder of Conductive Pathways, LLC. In 2015, they were a Co-Founder of ServiceOpt. From 2016 to 2018, they were the Head of Sales at FarmShots. Lastly, they are currently the Product and Business Development Manager at Allstacks.

Joshua Flood attended Appalachian State University from 2008 to 2013, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics. Joshua then returned to Appalachian State University from 2012 to 2014, where they earned a Professional Science Masters in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics. In 2013, they obtained a Wilderness EMT certification from SOLO Wilderness Medical School. In 2008, they obtained an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic North Carolina State certification from Wake Technical Community College.
