Dick Bates

ETL Information Engineer at Alltech International

Dick Bates has over 20 years of professional experience in various roles. Dick began their career in 1976 as a Boatswainmate - Bosn with the US Coast Guard. In 1986, they were promoted to Deck Department Head at Coast Guard Station Cutter Morgenthau, where they managed the maintenance and repair of a 378 foot ship with a $100,000 budget. In 1990, they were promoted to Commanding Officer at Coast Guard Station Channel Islands, where they represented the Coast Guard to local organizations and media, and managed an autonomous organization of 45 people with a $150,000 operational budget. In 1992, they were promoted to Human Resources Analyst with the US Coast Guard, where they initiated and monitored contracts for application design and development of manpower requirements. In 1996, they joined GTSI Corp as a Data Architect, transitioning a custom UNIX reporting system to Peoplesoft EPM and SQR reporting, and designing data marts for Peoplesoft ESA invoicing and bookings, as well as a sales lifecycle using Salesforce. In 2010, they joined Amyx, Inc. as a Data Warehouse Specialist, conducting high level analysis of all enterprise systems and creating enterprise architecture artifacts using ARIS for executive presentation. In 2011, they joined Navstar as an ETL Information Engineer, designing, developing and maintaining an audit application. Finally, in 2014, they joined Alltech International, Inc. as an ETL Information Engineer.

Dick Bates completed a Masters of Science in Information Systems from Strayer University in 1998, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oregon State University in 1973.
