Shawn Williams has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Shawn began their career in 1997 as an Inside Sales Representative at IBM and later joined Sanofi-Aventis U.S. LLC as a Specialty Sales Representative. In 2009, they became Publisher/Editor at Dallas South News. In 2012, they worked as Deputy Chief of Staff for Mayor Mike Rawlings at the City of Dallas. Subsequently, they served as Interim Director at the Public Information Office in 2014. From 2013 to 2016, they were the Manager of Media Relations and Community Affairs at the Dallas Police Department. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President at Allyn Media since 2016.

Shawn Williams is currently pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Public Leadership at the University of North Texas at Dallas, with an expected completion date in 2023. Prior to this, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Texas A&M University, which they completed in 1997.
