Anıl Sönmez

Anıl Sönmez has extensive work experience in various industries. Anıl is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Almatis, a leading company in alumina development and manufacturing. Prior to this, they held several roles at Clariant, including Head of Oil Services Eastern Hemisphere and Global Management Committee Member, Head of Business Group Purification & Functional Adsorbents, and Head of Business Group Purification EMEA. Anıl Sönmez also served as a Board Member at Clariant-Tamimi, a specialty chemical solutions provider to the oil and gas industry. Earlier in their career, they worked at Borealis Group, where they held positions such as Global Marketing & Sales Manager, New Business Development Manager, and Global Marketing Manager. Anıl Sönmez began their career as a Product Manager at Beko (Grundig) Elektronik.

Anıl Sönmez began their education at Bursa Anatolian High School, where they completed their high school education from 1993 to 2000. Anıl then pursued a Bsc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Middle East Technical University from 2000 to 2004. Anıl went on to obtain an Msc in Industrial Management from KU Leuven between 2006 and 2007. Recently, they completed an Executive MBA at IMD from 2018 to 2019.
