Jess Smith is a seasoned marketing professional with extensive experience in the arts and cultural sector. Currently serving as CRM & Digital Marketing Manager and previously as Marketing Officer at Almeida Theatre since November 2021, Jess leads email strategy and website management for new production sales. Prior roles include Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Newcastle Theatre Royal Trust Limited and Marketing and Digital Coordinator at Seven Stories, where Jess was responsible for print management and social media strategy, respectively. Jess also has experience as a Marketing Intern at the Royal Shakespeare Company and as a Conference Intern at The University of Sheffield, showcasing a strong background in digital content creation, event planning, and audience engagement. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in International Marketing from Newcastle University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from The University of Sheffield.

The Almeida exists to launch the next generation of British artists onto the world stage. A small room with an international reputation, the Almeida began life as a literary and scientific society – complete with library, lecture theatre and laboratory. From the beginning, our building existed to investigate the world. Today, we make brave new work that asks big questions: of plays, of theatre and of the world around us. We bring together the most exciting artists to take risks; to provoke, inspire and surprise our audiences; to interrogate the present, dig up the past and imagine the future. Whether new work or reinvigorated classic, whether in our theatre, on the road or online, we make live art to excite, enliven and entertain. The Almeida makes argument for theatre as an essential force in an increasingly fragmented society.
