Marianne Sweetser

Marianne Sweetser is a highly accomplished professional with extensive experience in clinical development, patient safety, and risk management. Currently serving as a Senior Distinguished Fellow and Senior Director at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals since April 2015, Marianne has previously held significant positions at Biogen Idec, including Senior Medical Director and Director roles in drug safety and medical research from December 2002 to April 2015. Earlier, Marianne served as an Assistant Professor and Acting positions at the University of Washington's Department of Pediatrics and was part of the active staff at Children's Hospital & Regional Medical Center from 1996 to 2002. Educational credentials include an MD and Ph.D. in Immunology from Washington University School of Medicine, as well as a B.S. and M.S. in Medical Microbiology and Biological Sciences, respectively, from Stanford University.
