Piyush Raj

Piyush Raj has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Piyush began their career as a Marine Engineer at Seaarland Shipping in Austria, where they were responsible for the maintenance and management of main propulsion, auxiliaries, and boilers. Piyush worked there from December 1998 to January 2006.

Following that, Piyush joined The Archean Group of Companies in 2007, where they held various roles. Piyush first served as a Senior Manager and Head of Productivity Research, leading the planning team for the delivery of four bulk carriers. Piyush was also part of the team that turned around the shipyard and developed a greenfield shipyard port design. Later, they became the Head of Logistics and Maritime Infrastructure for the company's operations in Indonesia from July 2011 to December 2012. Piyush was responsible for managing coal transportation and trans-shipment through rivers to ocean-going ships, as well as developing port facilities and assets for efficient operations.

In 2013, Piyush joined DNV GL as Head of Maritime Academy South Asia. Piyush held this position until December 2015 when they became the Head of Maritime Advisory for the India region. In this role, they were responsible for leading the advisory services and innovation programs for the maritime industry. Piyush served as the Principal Consultant and Innovation Program Manager until August 2017.

Currently, Piyush is working at Alpha Ori Technologies as the Director of Product Management. Piyush began this role in September 2017 and later became the Senior Director in April 2021, where they are responsible for overseeing product management and data science.

Overall, Piyush has gained extensive experience in maritime operations, logistics, product management, and data science throughout their career.

Piyush Raj's education history includes a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering from the Directorate of Marine Engineering and Training in Calcutta, completed from 1994 to 1998. Prior to that, they studied Intermediate Science (Maths) at Patna Science College from 1991 to 1993. Piyush also pursued a Fellow (Doctoral) Program in Management with a specialization in Operations Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, from 2002 to 2007. Additionally, they attended Loyola from 1985 to 1990, although the specific degree and field of study are unknown.
